This is a fully remote position, however, the selected candidate must be able to come to Washington, D.C. to pick up their equipment and for occasional on-site project work.

Either US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for this role. In addition, the selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day. 

The Security Engineer will use security engineering methodologies, policies, procedures and processes to review and assess a wide range of systems. The goals of this project are: To identify technical risks and facilitate operations and maintenance support which will allow for the secure management of an existing cloud environment; facilitate the support of migration efforts of other websites and web applications into the environment; ensure the security and compliance of the environment; and support the expansion and maturity of the environment through new technologies and solutions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will work with the system owner to develop and recommend appropriate mitigations to manage security risks. 
  • Responsible for reviewing and assessing security architectures across a variety of applications or domains for systems with large size, complexity, and risk.
  • Partner with Client and technical personnel that are maintaining and building these systems to guide them and to help them understand and implement security protocols
  • Accept responsibility for project security and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in security solutions development and engagements with customers/prospective customers
  • Share technological insights through presentations and white papers with fellow TCG employees and project partners
  • Demonstrate an ability to prioritize and organize efforts in a fast-paced environment

REQUIRED SkILLS

  • Understanding and applicability of Azure cloud infrastructure 
  • 5 years of experience in managing/providing security implementation oversight of Federal government IT projects
  • Platform management grounded in DevSecOps principles
  • Experience working with high-level NIST Security Policy requirements 
  • Experience with or knowledge of Section 508 compliance requirements and impact
  • Independent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity, and a customer service-orientated personality
  • Experience in the development of security methodology, techniques, and best practices
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with team members (consultants, technical staff, subject experts) and clients to define project activities and resolve issues and problems
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, organize, and lead problem resolution efforts in a fast-paced environment

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CompTIA Security + (required)
  • One of more of the following (required) or within 6 months of start on contract: CPTE, CEH, CISA, CISSP

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related discipline preferred or 10 years of experience in place of degree
